6 years ago, I was in a broken place until a man who I met when we were 12 years old found me on Facebook.
I was his first kiss and after his 13th birthday. I never saw him again.
It wasn’t until he in boxed me and asked me a couple of questions.
I answered him because it’s only a few who would have known this tomboy 🙄. He said to me, “thank you for being so kind to me when we were kids. I have been looking for you for years.”
I smiled and didn’t take anything out of it.
Months down the line he put in my inbox, “I know it’s early but I’m trying to lock it down.” I was like, “yeah right.”
We were both broken and numb from hurt of other people.
We were friends and we laughed.
I didn’t know how I fell for this man until he went overseas for the first time and we were not married.
I was scared, anxious and I knew I loved him.
On March 13, 2018, I found out he had a ring for me six months after we reunited. He said to me, “I knew six months in that you were the one after I saw you take care of when I was sick.”
On September 14, 2019, I was officially Mrs. Sargent first-class Hasani Chapman.
